I have changed the premise of this story somewhat. This
is going to be the first in a series of stories which I have
tentatively entitled Team Possible 2.0. This series is
primarily going to focus on the children of the Kim Possible
characters. There are going to be several story arcs, with Hana
learning to control her abilities being the primary one.

In this chapter I introduce 2 new important characters.
Mim’s twin brother John and her best friend Theo. These 3 are all the
same age and are Freshman.

Chapter
1 The New Cheerleader

To say that she was
nervous would have been a tremendous understatement. Butterflies were
fluttering away in her stomach as she awaited her turn at the
tryouts.

She remembered how
excited her mother was when she had decided to follow in her
footsteps and become a Middleton High cheerleader. Don’t worry
Mim, her mother had said, you’ll outshine everyone else. You
already know most of the routines I have shown you.

Mim smiled as she
remembered the extra hours of practice that she had put in, many of
which were under the appreciative gaze of her mother.

Her mother who had won
several cheer leading trophies as captain of the squad, during her
time at the school. She avoided looking at the trophy cabinet that
held an imposing looking trophy that had become all too familiar to
her. Thinking about it tended to make her nervous, for she hoped that
she could live up to her mother’s reputation. Not that she was doing
this for her mother, trying out for the cheer squad, this was
something that she had dreamed about doing for quite some time.

Mirrim Stoppable,
came the call of her name, the call that indicated her turn to step
up to the mark. Taking a deep breath she walked into the hall where
the audition was taking place. She put the thought of the trophy
cabinet out of her mind, in particular the trophy that bore her
mother’s name… Kim Possible.

How do you think she
got on? Asked an anxiously waiting Theo, knowing as he did the
amount of practice that his best friend had put into her
cheerleading, he knew that she would be on the squad without any
problem at all. Even so, his nerves were starting to get the better
of him.

She’ll be fine,
John Stoppable said with a chuckle. With all the practice that she
and mom had put in over the past week, she’s a shoe in. He could
not help but smile as he remembered being a member of the audience
for some of their training sessions. Not that he minded.

What are you two
standing around here for?

That sudden question, out
of nowhere, startled the two boys. They spun round, in unison, to see
who it was that had asked the question. They both let out an audible
sigh of relief when they saw who it was. They never heard her coming!

Please Hana, don’t
sneak up on us all Ninja like that. After a moment’s pause to get
his breath back, he continued. For the moment there I thought you
were Barkin, John said with a rueful smile. When he saw the look
on her face, the one that indicated he should continue, he gulped
slightly, for it was reminiscent of the way his mother looked when
she expected something to be done. Finally, he took a calming deep
breath and said; we’re waiting to hear if Mim got onto the cheer
squad!

For a moment there she
could not understand what he was referring to. Cheer squ… she
started to say as the penny dropped. That’s today? She asked
with a groan as she suddenly realized that she had totally forgotten
all about it. It was then that she recalled the occasion she had gone
over to see her brother, to talk with him about Barkin, at what Mim
had told her afterwards about the desire she had to try out for the
squad.

The two boys looked at
each other and smiled, Yep, that’s today! John said to his
aunt.

She smiled at him,
she’ll get on the squad, she said in a matter of fact tone.
After all, anything is possible… Hana knew that she did not
need to finish their family motto. Even though she was not
technically a member of the Possible family; she was very much a part
of it. With her brother and Kim’s relationship, the two families had
become a natural extension of each other.

We’ll know soon
enough, John said as he looked down at the time displayed on his
Kimunicator. Even though the communication device had a different
name now, he could not help but refer to it by the name his mother
had always used. In fact, he knew that he was not the only member of
the family who felt that way.

Knowing that her brother
and best friend were waiting for her outside the auditorium, Mim
quickly changed and headed out to meet them. The events of the
previous few moments were still buzzing round her head. She dashed
out of the door, the excitement barely contained within her. She made
it. That was all she could think about. She was on the squad, that
was all that mattered.

As she made her way to
where she knew they would be waiting, she was not surprised to see
her aunt there. Besides her parents, these 3 were the most important
people in her world.

Well? came the
question from all 3 people at once.

I’m in, it was all
she could do to keep from jumping up and down with glee.

At once she ran to them
and ended up in a group hug, the sounds of congrats and we
knew you’d get in ringing in her ears. At that moment Mim was the
happiest she’d ever been in her entire life.
